THE MOOD: Scuttle and Snarl

The light fades into bubble, bubble, toil, and trouble. We feel it. We feel the darkness creeping, hiding schemes and secrets; we feel the chill deepening, stinging our skin; we feel our hearts beating, pounding, pumping.

Scorpio, baring teeth, slithers in the shadows.

In Scorpio, the Sun, Mercury, and Mars shed their skins. We are going undercover, plunging into the heart of our desires, our power, our mysteries. On November 4, the Sun and Moon intertwine. Opposing Uranus in Taurus, this new moon is a bomb ticking, barely audible. We must be careful, for our strokes of genius can detonate, too.

Scheming, Mars drives this month. Empowered in one of its home signs, Mars is renewed, relentless, and ready to go after sex, ambition, catharsis. On November 10, Mars backfires when confronted by cold, hard Saturn. Its engine seizes, erupting in smoke. In these conditions, our actions leave black skid marks in the road.

Fuming, Mars breaks this energetic deadlock and surges forth to oppose Uranus on November 16. Pure power is earth-shattering. Not known for any chill, Mars and Uranus battle between action and reaction, control and chaos, stability and transformation. Soon after, a lunar eclipse in Taurus on November 19 pulls the pin on everything, reckoning. The dams break, the shit hits the fan.

What do we do when all hell breaks loose? Amidst the chaos of the month, Venus marches through Capricorn. It’s tough, and its tough love can get us through the harshest of times. Within the fray, the Sun and Mercury find moments to trine Neptune, too, dissolving some of the shrapnel and sharp edges in a warm bath.

By the end of November, dust settles. Mesmerizing twinkle lights appear in the night. The Sun and Mercury bound into Sagittarius, bright and buoyant, shadows shrinking in their wake. Flushed from its furies, Mars trines Neptune on November 30. Dreams rinse us clean, and we awake, renewed, dewy, utterly transformed.
