THE MOOD: Poetic Everything

April is a wave.

Seemingly, April is more Pisces than Pisces season was. While we start the month with many motivated planets in Aries and Aquarius, April slides into a perfumed haze as planets spill into Pisces.

The first days of April bring conflicts of confidence. The energy seems driven, motivated, and self-assured, yet something might be off. On April 2, the Sun, Mercury, and Chiron collide in Aries, positively running, jumping, and screaming at the top of their lungs. And, we must ask, what insecurities arise when we take up so much space, so boldly, so loudly? On April 4, Mars and Saturn then clash in Aquarius. We may find ourselves stuck in our ways, fighting for what’s “right” – and having very rigid definitions of what “right” is. These are days to watch our ego, pay attention to our “ouch,” and get to know our motivations. Healing is possible if we are honest with ourselves; Mercury’s sextile to Saturn on April 7 and square to Pluto on April 10 support some real radical honesty.

Concurrently, the Piscean planetary flood begins. On April 5, Venus moves into Pisces. On April 12, Jupiter conjuncts Neptune in Pisces. And on April 14, Mars moves into Pisces. Everything turns into a swell, a swoon; everything turns into poetry. Our third eyes open, blinking wide, wondrous, sparkling. We drink elixirs of love and light. We are called to give everything – our care, our money, our attention, our empathy, our will – because we feel, because it feels right, because we can’t say no, because how could we not? This is divine union, this is the sweetest surrender, this is believing in everything, we are everything, everything is us. This is yes. Yes! Yes! Yes!

The song is intoxicating.

The music suddenly skips a beat on April 18, when Mercury in Taurus conjuncts Uranus and the Sun in Aries squares Pluto. What the fuck just happened? We are zapped back into reality, the house lights are on, and we have more to clean up than we realized. We may have a moment of shock when we realize what was true and beautiful, what sweet untruths we fell for, and what boundaries disappeared over the past two weeks.

The tides flow in and out for the rest of the month, settling into a gentler rhythm as the Sun moves into Taurus on April 19. Mercury, too, ambles in Taurus, offering us something that is comfortingly real. Putting the waves into words may help them feel the most tangible; find grounding and solace by spilling all your ink on thick blank pages. As we close the month, we drift more calmly in a Pisces-Taurus pleasurescape that merges spirit and body, sky and ground, dreams and reality. We find that the surreal infuses the real, and the real steadies the surreal.
